We went to the center of Lviv to amplify the visibility of LGBTQI+ people and to protest the various forms of violence that queer communities face every day.
Together with the NGO Bilkis, we organized our first human rights action titled “Being Yourself Is a Right.”
Our slogans were:
“Being yourself is a right,”
“No to transphobia! Yes to equality!”
“Violence is not a tradition,”
“Homophobia is not a given — our choice is solidarity.”
Everyone deserves to live without fear — especially in their own city, in their own family, in their own country. When someone becomes a target of discrimination, the freedom of each and every one of us is under threat.
Discrimination weakens society and democracy. Respect and equality bring us together. Only together can we build a just and free Ukraine.
We are fighting for freedom. And that freedom must include everyone. No exceptions.
We are grateful to all who joined the action, and to those who made it possible.
A strong state begins with unity and mutual support!
