A feminist march was held in Lviv on 8 March, International Women’s Rights Day.
The organisers of this mobilisation were Feminist Workshop and Bilkis.
According to these two organisations, this march was dedicated to the theme of violence and sexual harassment against women in educational establishments, theatres and other institutions. The issues that were raised were present in previous years – in particular the fight against sexual harassment in cinemas.
The march brought together dozens of activists and young people who walked the streets of Lviv chanting slogans: “Seek justice, not women”, “Freedom, equality, women’s solidarity”, “See the violence – don’t be silent”, “Women’s safety is always on time”.
The organisers addressed the demonstrators about 8 March, shared personal stories of experiences of injustice and violence, and called for support for the collection for the needs of the military.
