In October and November, we held lectures for elderly women. Our events focused on digital skills and simple actions that can improve one’s life.

We are glad that these events were both great sources of support and the spaces where they get useful information that will be helpful in their lives.

Anna’s success story

Anna is a project participant who attended digital literacy courses in November. Recently her sister and she went to see relatives in Zhovkva where she hadn’t been for a long time.

They were getting back home late at night when it got dark. They stopped at the intersection and weren’t sure where to turn. They asked the locals for directions, but it didn’t help much.

Anna remembered that at the courses she learned to use Google Maps. She turned on the navigator on her phone and was able to identify their location on the map.
Thanks to the skills acquired in the courses, Anna was able to get directions to the ring road, located in the area she knew. From there, they got back home in no time.

Anna’s sister was interested in using these technologies and asked for contacts of the course organizers willing to join the classes. This proves that Anna’s experience has motivated one more person to acquire new skills.

Liudmyla’s success story

Liudmyla has also attended the classes in November.

Her friends and she often suffered from the lack of public transport on their route. That made it difficult to plan the trips and caused stress as they never knew how long to wait.

During the courses, Liudmyla learned to use the Easyway application to get reliable information on public transport routes. It helped her to be more efficient in planning the trips, reduce stress, and save time.

The courses helped Liudmyla to use the Easyway app to check relevant public transport timetables. One time, when the trolleybuses on her route were late, she quickly changed her plans and hopped onto a bus which helped her to get to her destination on time.

Liudmyla shared her knowledge with two friends who have also decided to take the classes. It sets a potential to spread the useful experience among her circle. It can improve the lives of many people who face similar problems with public transport.
