Our team has recently organized five lectures on gender equality for over 70 students of the “Child-friendly School”. The lectures were led by our legal expert Hanna Chyr.
She emphasized the role of gender equality, engaging the students in interactive exercises and discussions. The kids explained the difference between boys and girls to the aliens, played the game “Voting with our feet” and used the simulated situations to express their ideas about asserting gender equality in their own families.
“Gender equality is particularly important during the war when people return to stereotypical gender roles. Thinking about his future, one of the students said, “It is really important, all the more now. During the war, people return to the stereotypical thinking, and that is unjust. Why do we, boys, need to go to war when girls stay at home? That’s not fair.”
Summing up the lecture, the children realized that gender equality is integral in any circumstances and at any time, as it promotes justice and the personal development of everyone,” the lecturer adds.
We are glad for the opportunity to organize this lecture! We are grateful to the Child-Friendly School for their hospitality. We are looking forward to the new meetings and our continued collaboration!
