On September 16 in Stryjsky park we held a performance «(Not) a public property». We were motivated by the vandalization of the sculpture «Confident One» by Vasyl Korchovy which was part of the «Sculpture trail» within «Lviv Sculpture Week».

We believe that the sculpture was damaged due to fatphobia which is a form of discrimination based on fears, negative stereotypes, and misconceptions regarding fat people. The main idea of our performance is the right of fat women to exist, a representation of the experience related to fears of getting fat which are caused by social pressure, body-shaming, and the high price people sometimes need to pay to lose weight. Fatphobia is not a personal issue. It impacts social structures, strengthening stereotypes and heightened beauty standards.
