WHAT: Feminist English Speaking Club: Is Solo Female Travel Different?
WHERE: Feminist Workshop – Rynok square 42 (entrance from the courtyard)
WHEN: September 13 at 20:00
A study found that “72.4% of women are likely to travel alone, compared to just 27.6% per cent of men.” Why are there more women traveling solo than men? During our speaking club we will discuss why it is such a big deal if a female travels alone when men travel alone all the time.
Through team activities we will investigate these questions: what is it about women and solo travel? Why do women go? If you’re a woman, why should you travel on your own?
Moreover we will discuss the reasons why women are treated differently than men when traveling alone , their different concerns and experiences.
Topics are discussed in a relaxed and happy environment and we welcome people of all genders to join. We want the speaking club to be LGBTQ and female friendly, so any form of intolerant speech is not acceptable.
The workshop is led by Valentina Aslani, a human rights project officer from Italy who worked in the field of women’s rights both in the United Kingdom and India.
